Since the official opening of our Tokyo office in 1972, the attorneys in the office have assisted numerous Japanese clients in their international expansion projects. Utilizing our network of offices around the globe, who have been longstanding local presences in their own respective jurisdictions, we have the ability to advise not only on legal issues (with a comparison to domestic laws that our clients are more accustomed to), but also consultations on strategic and forward-looking investments opportunities in each industry sector.

The team consists of partners from our Antitrust, Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, Corporate/M&A, Dispute Resolution, EMI, Environment, IP/IT, Labor and Tax practice groups who work together with our global clients to expand their business while remaining compliant under various jurisdictional laws. The team has also hosted successful seminars and client road shows in Tokyo, focusing on specific industries and hot topics, inviting colleagues from our network offices in target locations to educate our important clients on issues they need to be aware of.
Japanese Representatives in Global Offices
Our Tokyo professionals are dispatched all around the world to respond to our client' s needs and demands. Each representative is familiar with the local laws and culture, with the ability to communicate and conduct business in Japanese. The team abroad works in conjunction with those foreign attorneys located directly in Tokyo who can also work on local (foreign) law matters directly in the Tokyo office.
