Takafumi Tanisasa
Takafumi focuses his practice in the areas of project finance, structured finance, syndicate loans, other general banking and securities matters, and general corporate matters.
Takafumi has worked on PFI deals for several national universities, waste disposal facilities and other facilities, project finance deals for wind power plants, etc., syndicate loans, securitizations, non-recourse loans, IPOs, securities regulation matters with regard to insider trading, TOB, securities disclosure, etc.
Takafumi was seconded to the structured finance department of a major securities company in 2005, where he worked on a wide range of structured finance matters.
  • Acted as the legal adviser of the local authority on the first PPP (Public Private Partnership) deals in Japan.

  • Acted as the legal adviser of the borrower on a non-recourse loan for large-scale urban redevelopment.

  • Acted as the legal adviser of the arranger on a syndicate loan of approximately US$200 million.

  • Acted as the legal adviser of the originator on the securitization of home loans.

  • In addition, worked as the legal advisor of the lender, borrower, or local authority on many finance transactions, including (i) PFI deals for several national universities, waste disposal facilities and sports facilities, etc. and (ii) project finance deals for wind power plants and biomass power plants, etc.
Takafumi is a member of the Tokyo Bar Association.
Takafumi received his LL.B. from the University of Tokyo in 2001. He also studied at the Legal Training and Research Institute of the Supreme Court.
